I enjoy most is living new experiences and a few days ago I saw something extraordinary before my eyes and I want to share it with you

E S P A Ñ O L

E N G L I S H

On Saturday, they invited me to an event called “12th Night Bonfire” according to what I would say in Spanish: “Fogata Nocturna” or something similar. This event was held on January 6 in Eagle, CO and ends the Christmas season, consists of taking your Christmas tree, without decorations to the park to be burned and make a great bonfire for the community.

When we still did not reach the place you could see the fire lighting from afar, I was already excited about that, while we were looking for parking we went right by the corner of the park where the BIG BONFIRE was, I did not stop looking for a second until it got lost in between of the houses and trees of the sector.

I walked energetically until I got close to the fire, what my eyes saw at that moment is inexplicable. I find the fire so special, since no flame is equal to the other, the colors are unique and to say the smell that was felt in the environment … only the smell of pine. I breathed many times deeply to try to keep that smell so special but that is not possible, I hope that when I return to feel a similar smell, this incredible experience comes to my mind.

After a few minutes I reacted and began to observe to tell them with luxury and detail what my eyes saw. In the parking lot of the park were all the Christmas trees stacked, that the same people were going to leave there days before or at the time, the firemen took them or dragged (if they were very large) to the corner of the park where there was fire. Then I realized that not only did the firemen care about the trees, but also their owners and even the children, obviously with the care of their parents and watched closely by the firemen that were around.

* All this I adore the firemen, especially the work they do in the community. Where I live, firefighters are VOLUNTEERS, they do not receive money, they must pay fees to maintain many of their instruments.

At one point we went for a walk in the park, there were two ice rinks completely free and open to the community, children and adults were sliding on the ice easily, as I saw some that were learning. They also distributed hot chocolate for the community, I did not try it, remember I’m zero sugar.

It was a truly unique experience, I never imagined that something like this was done with the trees specially cut for Christmas, I do not know if it is common in the United States or if they do it in some other nearby town … but if you know, I hope they tell me.
